Narri was glad that today was her meeting with the leader of the onyx guild the entire process had been one annoying block after another. First she'd thought maybe she would just walk into the guild and up to his office, but that idea was not such a good one. She would be killed on sight. Vampires did not walk into hunters guilds, at least not without permission. The next thought had been to call and make an apointment but that turned out to not be such a good idea when she realized that she lived with a bunch of paranoid bastards who would most likely be tapping phones. So she had gotten dressed and gone out to a pay phone somewhere in a seedy corner of New York, and made the appointment.

She had to weasel her way in saying that she needed to talk to the guild leader about something important that involved the guild, and she couldn't speak to anyone else. She was transferred to his line, and didn't even try to lie to him. She told him what she was trying to do, and asked for an appointment to plead her case. It was granted, although she didn't know if he was granting her access so he could laugh at her.

She made her way into the guild, and to his office. It felt stranger for Narri to be in a place where she was in danger of being targeted. Any of these people could be hired to kill her in the future. She doubted they would succeed but still to meet these people who might one day try was unnerving.

She walked up to his office door and knocked.

Lucien Cobriana

If Lucien would have known what she was thinking, he'd have assured her that most of his guild would have been able to handle her as a target, but he wasn't a mind reader.  He was confident in his abilities as a hunter and a leader, as well as the abilities of his people, so that wasn't an issue in his mind.

He had plenty of other things on his mind, though.

"Come in," he told her, waiting at his desk for her arrival.  This vampire had an interesting proposal, and though he didn't trust her in the least, he'd hear her out.  She'd be dead a dozen times over if she tried anything, so he wasn't worried.  "Please, shut the door and speak your piece."

Narri nodded a respectful thank-you for his letting her come to make her proposal. She took a deep breath and tried to relax this man made her nervous. He was powerful and she was standing in the middle of his nest.

"As you know I'm trying to help take slaves out of midnight and the slave trade. I need help. I need places to keep the slaves I find a way to take out until they are forgotten enough to let the go and be free. There are shifters, and hunters who will need taken out as well. Is there any chance you would help me?"

She crossed her toes in her flats. It was a childish gesture but anything would help.

Lucien Cobriana

'Nest' was actually a pretty good word for it, considering she was facing a cobra in the middle of his own Guild.  Fortunately, he meant her no harm unless she wanted trouble.

He watched her, surprised at the nervous mannerisms she was displaying, even if they were slight.  She spoke quickly, and hadn't fully explained before asking for his help, which meant that he was going to have to get specific details out of her.  Looking thoughtful for a moment, he stood up from his desk and walked around it to lean back on it from the front, a bit more casual and hopefully enough to put her at ease, even if it put him closer to her in the process.

"Please, have a seat, ma'am," he told her politely, considering what she'd said.  Hunters.  Tsu?  "You mentioned hunters.  What do they have to do with your plans, as they stand now?"

He may be able to help her, though it would certainly be for personal reasons.  He wanted a way to get at Victoria, and one of the rumors was that she was in Midnight seeking refuge.

Narri sat and tried to relax a little more. She knew this was like the first time she'd made a proposal in front of her father's friends. She would be nervous for a moment or two but then the cause would override her nerves and she would be able to speak clearly. She clenched her hands together to keep them from wringing themselves in her lap.

"Sometimes hunters fail to take down a vampire target. This makes them a target for slave traders. Many vampires will pay dearly for the hunter who tried to kill them to become their slave. And as far as shifters go many vampires keep them as pets much as humans keep kittens or puppies. Although vampires, in general, prefer a more exotic breed. So, there are many hunters, and Shifters floating around the slave trade, and they deserve to be rescued so they can continue their jobs and daily lives as much as the humans deserve to be rescued."

She hoped she had covered the entire topic to his liking. She knew he had to be at least a little familiar with the concept of the slave trade and how highly valued a hunter would be once they were acquired.
