Rec memes are recommendation memes - people ask for particular fandoms/pairings/stoires/art/etc and other folks try to hook them up with it. You can request specifics, like - idk, fluffy Harry/Luna stories/art, and other people can help you find it.

Anyway, as some of you might have guessed (lol) there was a rec meme over on fandomsecrets on LJ a little while ago and, among other awesome things asked for like L (from DeathNote)/Luna Lovegood, there was someone who asked for animorphsfic.

I have not been into that series for years and years and years. I had never read any fanfic for it at all, because I was over it before I started reading/writing fanfic. Now I want to go re-read the books and I'm drawing andalites. Hoooooow.

There actually weren't really any anthros in that series. People turning INTO animals, yes, so I guess it was possible to get a halfway-stage, but it wasn't a graceful transformation. The closest you'd get would probably be Hork-Bajir? Probably. Anyway, they weren't anthros; they were aliens. :3

Yeah, Animorphs wasn't furries.  It was aliens, space invasions and battles, mostly.  The animal thing was a weapon, anyway.  It wasn't like with furries, where they're like that all the time.

I approve of weapons.

Actually, no laughter here.  I liked Animorphs back in the day.

I used to love the series too, and then started falling out of fandom and then DROPPED DRAMATICALLY OUT after book 54, because it honestly sucked.

Worst. Ending. Ever. Evaaaaar.

Only the net, it was not willing to let me escape that easily. The fact that I've found some really, really awesome fanfics helps none.

Therefore I want to reread the books, only they're all 400 miles away. So I'm stuck drawing andalites. Man, I haven't drawn andalites for so long. *laughs*

Actually, I saw an Animorphs book in my attic yesterday while I was looking for a book about Nazi Germany...whoops looks like I'm a furry too...just in the closet...

So I am arachnophobic. What does this apparently compel me to do? Draw creepy looking girls with the longest hair EVER being stalked by realistic spiders the size of small children. Actually probably larger than small children.

Delia's family tree is done - and because of it, I've come across ANOTHER ARUN. Or Vida. But the fact that he's married to Jenna suggests he's an Arun, because it just wouldn't work any other way.

So I've noticed our fearless leader lurking on AIM...good to have you back online.

LOL, more like, 'leaving the computer on', but yes, internet is back.  I've just been working and trying to get this place cleaned up lately.  Good news is that the bathroom is totally scrubbed down, and all I have left of the kitchen is the counters (again), mopping the floor, and actually filling the cabinets.  I spent most of the night scrubbing out the cabinets and drawers.

Glad to see I was missed.

Just plopping this here as a reminder to myself, I'm gonna scrap the witch part of this equation, as well as the Midnight connection....I have an interesting idea...I will discuss it with somebody, but this is my post it note to myself.

Oh, jeez. In light of recent events (ie, joining NO) I decided it would be interesting to go on a mystical internet quest to find the old Yahoo! group where I last RP'd. I found it, surprisingly enough (8 years of inactivity later and the group hasn't been deleted? You can thank pornspam for that.). The hard part was remembering the password to the email I used so I could get in.

Hmm. Wishing I haven't used variations of the same password since the dawn of time. Because I really could have done without the Reality Check that awaited me within the posts... I THINK I MAY HAVE BEEN THE MOST ANNOYING 13 y/o in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD. Possibly.

To say nothing of my horrendous, pretentious, nonsensical in-character posts...

EVERY message was full of .........., !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, keymashing (oh, wait, that was just my spelling!), and ended with "oh y'alls don't care any way mwahahahahaha.........ignore me please!!!!!!".

And I was the mod of the group. *headesk*

The worst part? Apart from the fact that everything I wrote remains, to this day, on the internet for all the world to see? Amelia Atwater-Rhodes was part of the group...and one of the most frequent victims of my characters' stupidity. This whole "experience", in retrospect, is kind of like if, a US president threw up on someone important who they were trying to impress. If he threw up continuously for almost two years.

Needless to say, the name of this group will go with me to my grave...

Anyone else ever run into similar ghastly specters from the past?

Also: Darren had a secret FAILBOARD that the brilliant Angie found one day while Googlesearching random bullshit. It was amazing. I linked it to him and brix were shat. SOI SOI SOI SOI. He nuked it after I started ragging him on it pretty hardcore, but it's probably for the best.
