You need Celestone....seriously, it kills Strep like whoa...and then you get the uber sweet codeine syrup and mail it to me!

Once again, I lost what I was working on.  Why?  Because, again, the power went out.  I'm assuming this was because of a thunderstorm we had, but still.  I think most modern towns are prepared to deal with storms, and we're not that far from a CITY.  That's pretty pathetic.

Father Dantes

Heh, thats why I was so happy to get my Franken Drive up and running. Our power fails in my neighborhood every time the wind blows hard, and the kicker is....I live in a COTTON FIELD, NO TREES. But then again I live in Louisiana and this whole state is FAIL on a massive level...ugh...I'm so pissed at out state government right now...

Joshua Silvera

lolololol you live in a cotton field
I'll make a soldier's decision to fly away
Load my gun, paint my face, call me misery
I can see the sky light up and the ground explode
Got my sights locked in, I can see you breathe

A lot of people lost power, Darren.  It wasn't just us.  Just like last time.

And the storm this time was really bad.  Like, really, really bad, especially right over us.  We had constant lightning and there was a point when the thunder shook the house, and at one point the lightning was at the window.  I wouldn't be surprised if it hit something important somewhere because a couple times it sounded like it did.

So I bought Blood and Chocolate and watched it.

Nothing like the book, BUT, it was good.

Aimee Forsyth

I know, I saw the storm through the big windows at work (was stuck at cashwrap), and the whole area was dark when I was driving home.  Actually, that part was pretty cool, despite the fact that I knew it meant we had no power.  People were still roaming around like usual, just...in the dark.  Kind of made me think of horror flicks/games, especially in this area.  Only thing that would have made it worse would have been Braddock or Rankin.

You know, I liked the book, Angie, but I didn't even bother to see to movie.  Might even be the same deal with Twilight.  I saw a preview for that, and even the preview couldn't make me wanna see it.

Reese Walker

I heard that it was nothing like the book, which is sort of a pity because the book was interesting.

Ah well.

And if they mess up the Twilight movie I'm gonna kill someone. That doesn't mean make it unlike the book, mind you, just if they mess it up.

Aimee Forsyth

Having seen the cast, I say they already messed it up. :)

*laughs*

Point. Some of them... just... yea. They seemed odd to me. Just... don't make it another Harry Potter. T___________T The worst thing about when they pull stunts like that is lazy people think OH, I'VE SEEN THE MOVIE, I DON'T NEED TO READ THE BOOK and go away thinking that they're this expert on the book.

Aimee Forsyth

I haven't even seen most of the HP movies.  I read the books, and I've seen bits and pieces of the movies, but I haven't seen most of it.  I think I MAY have seen the first one, and then wasn't too keen on them.  I know I've seen some of the fourth one, but that was because it was on some movie channel or whatever here and played a thousand times, if I remember correctly.  I know I've seen that underwater part a few times.

*shrugs* Not really into the HP movies or the Twilight movie.  Wanted looks good, though.  The comic was interesting, so I'm wondering exactly how much of it they're going to translate.

I was hoping they'd keep the pairing the same, but they made Gabriel a little darker in the movie. It's okay, though - they used Olivier Martinez, which is another one of my SWAT loves.

Libby Belmont

I really don't have a problem with the Harry Potter movies.  I don't look at it like "this is the books in movie form."  I look at it like "this is a movie based off of the books."  They're two separate things to me.  But seeing as I never read Twilight, I don't really give a shit what the movie's like.  But then, it isn't a movie I'd want to see.  8D

Yea, see, the pairing and the almost-unexpectedness of it was one of the things that I really, really liked about the book; I was disappointed to hear that they'd changed it so that she ended up with sissy-boy.

I dunno, Blood and Chocolate was an interesting read and a good book, but possibly not a book that I'd recommend for everyone. Like, there was this girl who I SWEAR couldn't have been more than twelve when I was working at B&N who came in and asked me to find Blood and Chocolate for her. I told her that I wasn't sure it was the kind of book she'd really like, and as her dad was around, mentioned that it had so mature themes and whatnot, and offered to help her find a book she'd probably like better. She said that she could handle it and scoffed at my suggestions, he ignored me, and then she - to prove, I suppose, how adult she was - started listing off all these books she had read, most of which were in the kids section and, quite frankly, sissy books.

Kinda a stupid kid, really.
