Night's Omen

Sarah laughed at Holly's description of Church. Yeah he was starting to look like a damn WWE star or some shit. She almost said something about lifted vehicles since she had a lifted Jeep, but she wasn't in any condition to drive. But she had no fear of leaving it here since nobody would fuck with Papa, or his property or anything on his property...she hoped.

"Yeah ok I'll call him, if you call he might think its some kinda fucking drunk booty call or something. Hey..even better idea, give me your phone, I want to fuck with him."

Sarah liked harassing Church and he would be caught completely off guard if she called from Holly's phone. Yeah that would probably get under his skin pretty good. Sarah couldn't help but grin when she thought about him grabbing his phone expecting Holly and then catching some shit from her.

Holly only made a sound that could be described as acknowledgment as she rested her head on the bar counter, lifting it in small intervals to take drags off of her cigarette. The alcohol hadn't exactly crept up on her, since she was known to get painfully drunk, but perhaps she'd had more than her fill. She felt almost uncomfortably hot, and would only welcome the cool night air that the damp city brought.

She managed to hold her head up enough to make light conversation with Sarah until she heard Church's telltale baritone voice behind her, and then she sat upright a little more, abandoning her extinguished cigarette for the back of the chair as she twisted 'round to see him.

"Hey," she said. "We're drunk." No kidding.

Sarah had certainly given Church an earful on the phone. He had picked up talking some kinda shit because he thought it was Holly, but Sarah had quickly cut him off and asked how many cc's of roids he had shot that night. Church had not been amused at all, but once Sarah convinced him that both she and Holly were FUBAR, he had agreed to come pick them up.

After she hung up on Church she turned her attention back to Holly who seemed on the verge of passing out. Something wasn't right about the girl....Sarah had heard stories about Holly getting fucked up and doing crazy shit, not Holly getting drunk and passing out. There was for sure something odd at work here. Sarah reached over to move Holly's hair away from the cigarette dangling from her mouth and brushed the woman's forehead. Holly was burning up it felt like.

"Holly...you ok?"

About the time Sarah asked that question she heard Church's deep booming voice behind her and listened as Holly stated their obvious drunkenness to him. But something was up her beyond being drunk.

"Church, I think something is wrong with Holly, man she is hotter than fucking hell, feel her forehead...we might need to take her to see the Doc back at the guild house."

Why he put up with those two bitches was truly beyond him, but he did, mostly for Holly.  Sarah was just an unfortunate extension of that whole situation, since the two were friends.  Usually, he didn't mind the blonde, but there were times...

Like tonight.

He picked up his phone, saw Holly's name in the Caller ID, and didn't think twice about throwing a crude comment out there.  It was Holly, and he knew she went out drinking!  Why wouldn't he?  Well, maybe because it was actually Sarah, and she laid into him about steroids, which was not only untrue, but obnoxious.  He was going to beat the hell out of that snake woman one of these days.

He'd agreed to go pick their asses up, thinking that perhaps his night wasn't completely shot, after all.  He could drop Sarah's ass off at her house and still enjoy the rest of the evening with Holly, as long as they hadn't drank THAT much.  If Sarah couldn't drive, he was curious, though.

"Really?  Drunk?" he asked, not at all surprised.  It was a testament to just how drunk they were that Holly felt the need to inform him.  He wasn't stupid enough to not have realized, and she knew it.  "You gotta be kidding me."

Surprisingly, he wasn't still picking on her for the 'drunk' comment.  That had been directed at Sarah, and the situation itself, when she told him to feel Holly's forehead.  If she had a fever, that'd just be perfect.  Sick AND drunk just didn't mix.  He saw imminent pukage.

He felt her forehead, and before he made another move to get them out to his car, he asked the bartender for a plastic To Go bag.  It'd be gross, but better than Holly puking in the truck.  The bag was instantly shoved at Sarah.  "This is in case she pukes.  If it ends up in my truck, you're cleaning it," he warned her, hoping that might make her a little more inclined to actually TRY to avoid letting Holly throw up everywhere. 

"Hey, baby, let's get you home.  You don't look like you're feeling too good," he said to Holly, setting a hand at her elbow so that he could keep her steady as she got off of her stool.  He could have carried her, but he wasn't going to unless it seemed like she needed it.  Hunters tended to be touchy about that sort of thing, and the women were no exception.

Something wasn't fucking right with Holly. Sarah could feel it, she wasn't just drunk and sick.  Something strange was wrong with Holly. Church was as usual too fucking meatheaded to see that. Sarah would keep her from puking all in his truck, but still, there was more to it than that. Holly needed a doctor.

"Seriously Jaxon, I'm not fucking around with you, she needs to see the Doc tonight...she didn't drink that fucking much."

Whatever misgivings Church had about Sarah, all she wanted to do was look out for her fellow hunters. Just because she like to push his buttons didn't mean she didn't care.

Holly made twisted, ugly faces as Sarah and Church tried to feel up onz, and she kept trying to back away, enough so that it was no surprise when she almost lost her balance. The room was positively spinning, a blur of brightly coloured accent lights and a dim red background. She grabbed onto something big, which was Church's arm, thank fuck, and leaned into him.

She felt so hot! "I think I have strep," she said, because that's the only thing that she thought it could have been; the only thing she'd ever really had to compare it to. Her head was pounding, and for a second, the idea of viral meningitis flashed through her mind. She almost panicked, but the sudden rush of fear brought something else with it - vomit. She didn't even need that bag that Church and Sarah were arguing over.

"Brb," she shouted, and turned, bolting in a lopsided pattern for the bathroom. Once inside, she remedied her stomach of all its contents, and then some. She drank some water from the fountain, (rinse) and puked more (repeat).

She wiped her face and came back out of the bathroom after ensuring nothing was in her hair, but she still clung to a wet paper towel and put it to her neck. She felt like shit. Absently, a hand moved up to that feather, to make sure it was still there - it was. She looked up at Church.

"Can we please leave now?" Her voice sounded almost kittenish. "I don't wanna see a doctor."

It was a well-known fact Holly hated doctors with a burning passion unless they were giving her nothing more than a band-aid.

Holly was way...way too fucking hot. Sarah reached up and felt her own forehead. As a serpiente, she was a bit colder than a normal human. And even though she had pounded back quite a few drinks herself, Sarah wasn't anywhere near as hot as Holly. She felt really hot. Hotter than a normal person with a cold would have felt. Something wasn't normal.

"Jaxon, we need to get her to bed, she's not drunk, she's fucking sick. I don't know what's wrong with her but she is really hot."

Sarah didn't really know what was going on, but she knew Holly wasn't her normal self. Maybe a good nights rest would put her back right.

Yeah, Church was too meatheaded to take care of Holly.  It was best that Sarah hadn't said that out loud, or anything about him being too meatheaded to do what he needed to for the little pink-haired huntress in front of him, since he really wasn't as stupid as Sarah seemed to think.  He wasn't a rocket scientist, and he wasn't at the top of his class or anything, but he wasn't retarded.  He got sick of hearing about it just because people assumed that muscles took the place of brains.

He'd certainly been right about the imminent pukage.  He shot Sarah a 'told you so' sort of look, and took to collecting Holly's things up while she was doing her thing.  He wasn't following her into a women's bathroom unless there were shots fired or screams.  That would have been Sarah's job, but she didn't seem to want to go in, either.  Not that Church could blame her, but if they were at home, he'd have done it just because it's part of the job.  As it was, he was still hoping to avoid cleaning up puke.

"Keep the bag ready, Sarah.  I'm dropping you off first," he affirmed, not about to force Holly into going to the doctor if she didn't want to.  If she got worse, then he'd take her, but for the time being, she probably just had strep or some virus.  He'd load her up with ibuprofen, maybe talk Mitchell or Doc Frankenstein into giving him some penicillin or something, and just let her sleep it off.  She was a tough girl, it'd all work out.

Holly didn't puke again on the way out to the truck, although she felt like she might, and stopped several times to run off in a wayward direction and linger by a parked car, waiting to see if she'd vomit or not. At least she had the decency to dip off when she wanted to ralph instead of doing it right by her friends.

When she got to Church's truck, she flung open the door and climbed into the front seat, immediately curling up on her side. She rested her head on Church's leg the moment he got situated, slipping the shoulder portion of the seatbelt out from around herself. She wasn't dumb enough not to put one on at all, mostly because Church had a habit of slamming on his brakes, and she didn't want to get flung into the dashboard.

She was burning up, that was sure, but as soon as they attempted to get the air conditioner going, she whined that it was too cold. She eventually settled for the windows to be half-way down, and continuously tried to move the mop of cotton candy hair away from her face as it dampened with sweat and stuck to her.

"I. Feel. Like. Shit," she moaned into Church's leg, putting a hand over her face. "Are we there yet?"

Sarah just watched as Holly yakked all her shit up everywhere. She would help her if she asked for it, but she was NOT wading off into a bunch of Holly puke if she could help it. But eventually they made it to the truck and Sarah hoisted herself into the back seat of the truck, thankful for the back door. She probably would have fallen right the fuck back out if she had to navigate over a seat to get back there.

"Aight big boy...just drop me off at the Guild House. Holly...you LOOK like shit too, try to get some sleep up there..."

Sarah was kinda feeling funny herself as the truck roared down the streets. But she always got kinda sick when she had been drinking alot and had to ride in a car. She was just glad Holly seemed to have already puked everything up and she didn't really have to man the bag. 

"Hey Church....seriously...thanks for the ride, sometimes I think I might fuck with you too much..."
