Paris (to Sophia): No fucking idea. Just paid for my chipotle in chocolate coins, though. Either there is a huge language barrier happening here, or my big boobs are finally paying off.

Breathe You In

"Sorry?" Emily asked, now even more confused. "Is there an Empress? I didn't know." Why not, after all? Why not. She watched hesitantly as the other picked herself up, not quite sure what she was doing, certainly not what she was supposed to be doing. The world, already tilted sideways, had apparently just decided to stand on its head, but then what was the great difference between the two? When everything was already crazy why shouldn't another dab of insanity be added to the mix? It made perfect sense.

"... what happened to you?"

Theia turned back to Emily again, and shrugged. "I was betrayed by those closest to me. It's a very bad feeling," she added, voice sour, matching her eyes. One brown, one indigo, a thing of the past. She studied the little hawk for a moment.

"Why are you here? Where is your family?" she asked suddenly, brows raised. "Times have changed greatly if an avian princess is allowed to roam alone."

"P- wait, princess?" Emily stared for a moment, realized she was staring, then started shaking her head almost mechanically. "No no, you must have me mistaken with someone else."

She paused for another moment, golden eyes wide. "Princess?" she repeated again, in a tone that sounded as though she were wondering if she were wrong. What if she was a princess? ... great sky, she was even crazier then she'd thought to even be thinking that!

... but still, what if she was?

Ug, no Emily, bad Emily, you have enough problems without delusions of granduer.

"Listen, you have to be mistaken. My family's dead."

Amaltheia Monarch

"Dead?" she asked. She blinked, and then made a little noise. "So is mine."

She fell silent for a few more moments, watching Emily watching her, before she spoke again. "I still think it's odd that you're out. Avians can't possibly have changed that much in the last millenia... could they?" she spoke, mostly to herself, and in a soft tone at the last bit.

"Whatever. I guess they'll do what they're going to do anyways. Come on, it's stagnant here. Let's go somewhere else." And Theia held her hand out in a demanding sort of manner. Well, she couldn't just leave her there, could she? What if someone saw?

"Let's go to the fountain," she said. "There are coins in the water." It was entirely the appeal for a bird, to watch the water reflect off of the coins, creating little glints of shimmering silver on the wake, sparkling around the buildings around it in a burst of light.
