He'd never liked hearing 'no', but especially not from someone he was going to play with.  That was really the wrong turn of phrase for her to make, but he couldn't expect much else.  The attitude and blatant refusal wasn't to be allowed, though.  Especially since the ride would be so much quieter without her squawking.

He whipped his arm up fast enough that anyone looking at the car wouldn't likely realize he'd even stuck the girl, and he didn't take any pains to make the blow light.  She was a shifter, and he wasn't going to have her waking up before he was ready.  He hadn't intended to bust his window, though.  That was annoying.

"You'll see, pretty bird."
