A Warm Place

[Cynthia]

Cynthia kind of laughed a little. "I'm not in high school, actually." There was almost a dangerous pause as she could have said she was in middle school. She didn't. "I'm in between semesters at the community college, which I won't be attending much longer due to lack of money." She sighed heavily.

"I'm just petite, that's all. I still get carded to go into R rated movies. It's ridiculous." And, as seasoned as Cynthia was, she laughed that tired 'oh, you' sort of laugh that was pretty convincing.

[Connor Batten]

He was a bit surprised when she said she wasn't in high school, having been thinking that she couldn't possibly be older than Lore, and then she said she was in college.  Well, that was at least good.  He'd been worried that perhaps she was in middle school, and staying all alone in a hotel room?  She was going to need SOMEONE from her family to come stay with her, if that was the case.  Him just walking her back to the room wouldn't have done a damn thing.  But if she was in college, she didn't technically need a family member there to take care of her.  

Hmm, tough situation.  She was at that age that could go either way.  She could take care of herself, technically, but could she really manage it?  By all rights, college kids managed on their own all the time.  Could she?

"Ah, never really had that problem myself," he told her honestly, smirking some.  "My friends and I got into all sorts of trouble that way, but we managed to get all sorts of things when we were underage."

[Cynthia]

Cynthia shuffled along, pondering what sort of trouble she could say she got into. Killing, mayhem, and a general distaste for life.. things of that nature were usually not appropriate conversation pieces. She sighed softly.

"I never really got into any trouble. Well, my parents didn't like one of my boyfriends because he was older, but that was mostly all." Yeah, age certainly was relative. Cynthia was a cradle-robber even if she dated a 100 year old man - she'd still have him bested by 200 years of agonizing boredom.

"There's nothing wrong with staying out of trouble," he pointed out, though he personally had never followed that.  Trouble had a habit of finding him, whether he went looking for it or not, so he usually just stayed prepared for it.  It meant he was very rarely surprised when something bad happened.  "If I could have as a kid, things would have gone far smoother."

Of course, it would have also been incredibly boring.  He and Jordan had almost seemed ADHD with how easily they became bored and got into trouble, and he'd never trade that for anything.  "And older boyfriend?  That's not so bad.  How old was he?"  Connor, of all people, really couldn't preach on that subject.  He'd always been rather dismissive about ages.  So long as he and the girl were both legal, and she was hot (personality or physically, he didn't really discriminate if she caught his attention), then it was all good.  He wasn't so much into the younger girls lately, simply because he was getting a little bit older, but he wasn't that old, and he'd certainly slept with older women in his time.
