Dimitri walked into the small bar/lounge attached to the hotel and sat down. It was a slightly shabby place, and suitably to the business he wished to conduct. It was also far enough off the beaten track that most of his usual business associates wouldn't see him here. He ordered their best vodka on the rocks when the waitress passed by and sat back to wait on his drink and his contact to arrive. This whole enterprise had been Lothaire's idea, but he had promised that Dimitri could keep most of the profit, so Dimitri had gladly accepted the deal.

So here he was in a run down hotel, in a small bar awaiting a vampire that was supposed to be smuggling slaves out of Midnight. His mind was well shielded so he didn't have to worry about her knowing his intentions. He was really just in it for the money. He didn't really care about Midnight or the slave trade, he just cared about money. He looked up as the waitress sat his drink on the table. He paid her and picked up the glass as she moved away. The vodka in America was no where near the quality of what he was used to. But he didn't have much time to consider that as he noticed a woman advancing toward his table. She was slightly late for their meeting, but that was ok....Dimitri had all the time in the world.....

Narri hesitated outside of the shabby hotel bar. She very suddenly wasn't as confident about her plan. This could get her killed, and while she attempted to put others before herself, she really did not want to die, again.

Taking a deep breath Narri walked into the bar. She scanned the bar until she found her contact. She slowly approached, appraising him and try to case his mind. He was an intimidating man, but the thing that disturbed her the most about this entire meeting was that his thoughts were shielded. She couldn't read his mind, and that meant she was completely blind to his intentions.

Finally she reached his table and stuck out her hand. "Hello, I'm Narri."

Dimitri stood grasped her hand as she introduced herself.

"My name is Dimitri..please, join me."

He considered the woman before for a moment. She must be either very brave or very foolish to be doing what she was doing. But a part of Dimitri did admire her for standing for her ideals and trying to do what she thought was right. Things weren't exactly going to work out the way she wanted if this deal went through..but Dimitri didn't care about that, he cared about the profit he stood to make from this deal. As they sat back at the table Dimitri decided to make his offer.

"I understand that wish to sell slaves out of Midnight.....I am seeking to buy some slaves, but I am not affiliated with Midnight, so you must understand why I have come to you. I want this transaction to be very discrete. Are these slaves broken...or are they still slightly human?"

Dimitri knew that if the slaves weren't broken, they soon would be once he turned them over to Lothaire. He had seen Lothaire's work, and while he admired it, he just didn't have enough cruelty in himself to be like that. If this went according to plan...his friend would reward him well. Numbers were running through Dimitri's mind as he waited for Narri's reply.

Narri stiffened at his words. She knew this was not a safe contact the moment he mentioned her selling slaves out of Midnight. No one who was to be trusted would have stated things that clearly in a place this open. She knew immediately that she was going to need to convince him that her intentions were less noble than he thought they were.

"I think you may be mistaken. I am not trying to sell slaves out of midnight, I simply believe that there is a market for slaves outside of our small community, and am interested in increasing my income, and clientele. If you are still interested in my slaves, they vary from mostly broken to extremely obedient."

She gave him a hard stare and put her entire being into projecting the image she was portraying. The woman he saw would be ruthless and care for no one but herself. Narri had perfected this image in her time at Midnight in order to stay alive.

Judging by her reaction...Yes Lothaire had been correct, she was selling slaves that had either been bought out of Midnight by her or she had bought them to keep them OUT of Midnight. She also seemed nervous despite the image she projected. Dimitri on the other hand was in business mode, cold and shrewd. He was going to make this deal, because he wanted the money, simple as that.

"Ah I guess I was mistaken, I thought all human slaves were moved through Midnight at some point..but perhaps I am wrong. I think perhaps I am most interested in the slaves you have that are mostly broken. How many do you have...and what is your asking price?"

Yes, Time to talk money, Dimitri's s favorite activity. He loved the struggle, the back and forth of making a black market deal. He didn't intend to pay her asking price, he was going to haggle with her for sure. But he would need to look at her "stock" first to make sure they were worth purchasing. If she didn't offer to show them to him, he would insist on it.

Narri realized this deal was not going the way she wanted it to and it could be deadly for her. He wanted what slaves she had, but at the moment she had very few. Her backers hadn't come through with money yet, and if they found out that someone had leaked what the operation was really doing she risked losing them all together. Everything could be ruined with this one deal. She worried over what to do to save her operation and her own neck for a moment before she came to the unfortunate conclusion that she would have to sacrifice a few to save many.

She would sell her most broken, unhealed slaves to this man and let him do what he must with them. The loss of those few he took and the money she got for them would help to free more people eventually. "I have a few slaves that may be to your liking. They are extremely broken, but I believe they are usable. When would you like to see them? We can talk price after you've seen the wares."

Dimitri Brevic

Dimitri smirked again at her unease. Had he let slip what was going on? No..this was just her clumsy attempt at maintaining her safety and image. But yes...he did wish to see her slaves.

"I would like to see them immediately. I am in need of slaves right now so the sooner we can wrap this up the better. I have a few jobs already that I need slaves for. Lets see what you got"

Dimitri stood and shrugged on his jacket. His hand plunged into the depths of his jackets pocket and he gave his pistol a reassuring squeeze then he reached in teh other pocket and withdrew his dark, mirrored sunglasss which he pushed over his eyes. He was ready to go whenever she was.

"We can proceed now, whenever you wish we will leave."
