No, the arm's attached.  That's a real, live girl.  She just has tattoos that blend in with the background, because they credit the models he was working with.

Still say that it's kinda a strange pic. *laughs* Though... I must admit that I like blood as well, because it looks cool. Which is why I'm currently drawing a kelpie EATING someone.

Such a pity that it's underwater; I wanted spatters. Blood is just... fun.
