Shut up with all the drama and POST...the board activity is slipping again...

Wilhelm

Double Post...
Seriously enough with the TL;DR lets just all get along or just avoid OCC stuff all together.
I'm not an admin, just a lowly player who happens to owe his involvement to Angie. I'm not taking sides at all, but I will say this, the initial IQ of 190 comment I saw in chat did come across as a bit snobbish, but whatever who cares. As long as you can play your character....what does it matter? The point of the game is to PLAY THE GAME. Let's just play the game, and have a good time and if there is animosity, take it up in PM or something.

Aurelius Lawson

Okay. I'm posting. This is a post. You see me posting?
Hi, this is me, posting.

Now that I'm done being a redundant ass (just this post, of course ;)),

Punctuation Is Amazing!

Let's eat grandpa.
Let's eat, grandpa.

A woman without her man is nothing.
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Cool, no?

Wilhelm

Look, I'm trying to be nice and help you out. Angie is a great person...she's just been burned several times by liar's so somethings are a sore spot with her. Just play nice and get to know her.

Don't play little games like that with me...I meant post In Character not in the OCC whore threads like this one. I may not be an admin, but I will offer bribery to them in order to see my will carried out. Fear me, because I generally do not forgive nor forget (lulz bonus points if you can guess where that was stolen fromm)

Can we just leave it be?

Estelore, if you scored that high on various IQ tests, good for you. We really don't care, though why are you even bringing it up? This is a rp board - we're not interesting in the latest scientific discovery, medical advances, intelligence scores, whatever. We're here to play with a makeup world. ;)

The fact of the matter is, however, that a score that high does make it sound like you're making stuff up. You don't want people questioning it then just don't mention it at all, ktnkx. Otherwise it makes you look like you're just lying to impress people and not lying very well, because it's not particularly believable, given how very few people score that high on IQ tests, except for the fake ones that you take on the internet or whatever.

In Angie's defense, you have sounded a bit condescending sometimes - at least here:
QuoteI have promenade tonight....
oh... right...
that's 'Prom' to the rest of you.
Of course, I could just be taking too much from it, but that's how it read to me. Big words are fine (I like big words! It's fun pulling out terms that cause others to look at you strangely!) but the way that you said "that's 'Prom' to the rest of you" seemed (to me, at least) as though you were talking down at us, you know?

Anyway, the point of this post is that it shouldn't matter. If you wanna brag about your IQ then sorry, you've got the wrong board (and even if you didn't mean it that way, saying that you have a score of 190 - especially out of the blue - really does look like bragging). If not then lets just leave it alone.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm attacking you or anything - I'm totally not, I just want to... move on. I have SO had my fill of online drama LIKE I CAN'T TELL YOU.

ALSO: (as things were posted since this) *totally agrees with Cody - the entire point of this post has been agreeing with Cody*

Also - yea, punctuation is great, but I'm fairly sure he meant IC posts, not OOC.

EDIT: ALSO - Alice is done. Darren, anything you see that's wrong with her?

DOUBLE EDIT: HAPPY 400 POSTS EBERE!!!

In Conclusion, We all just want to have fun in our pretend world with our pretend characters. Sometimes when people drink they do strange things, it happens lets just leave it at that...I'm sure there are a few strange drunk or otherwise mentally altered posts floating around from me.

Also, why does the humane society have such sad commercials showing in the middle of Star Wars Episode I on Spike? I have a huge soft spot for dogs, and my dog is still at the kennel from my trip and those commercials make me feel like shit.

Kaylee Miller

I seldom post out-of-character, but I really just want to pop in and agree with Cody, as well. Let's have fun and leave the drama to the characters! ^_^;;

QuoteDon't play little games like that with me...I meant post In Character not in the OCC whore threads like this one.
Sorry, Cody. I honestly thought that you meant to post HERE. I wasn't playing games. Anyhoodle, I've already posted IC elsewhere, but I'll have to head to bed soon. G'night.

With the prom thing I wasn't being condescending. I've just been asked so many times 'what is promenade?', because that is actually what we call it here. Most people call it prom, and I didn't want confusion.
It seems that I've got it, anyway. Funny how things work out, no?

The 'stating of the IQ in chat' was just me saying something random about myself. I was waiting for Somebody to say Something, since I was being invited to chat for purposes concerning my first character.
I was reminding the administration that I wasn't lingering there for my health.

Anyway, I need to go. Immediately.
Good night, everyone.

Wilhelm

No big deal, unlike some of my characters I'm not a complete raging asshole...well most of the time anyway.
You should hang out in chat more often when a good one is going, it can be quite entertaining...and you an get to actually know your fellow players well if you are interested in such a thing.

Lachlan Williams

speaking of chat AHAHAHA IT NO LONGER WORKS FOR ME AGAIN.

Plus, because they want to spread the love, photobucket is now blocked as well.

I'monna go find a wall to bang my head against now, ktnkxbai.

As far as I know, which honestly isn't far because I'd never claim to be a genius (clearly, I'm not), a promenade isn't the same as The Prom.  Initially there was a correlation, but isn't a promenade a specific sort of dance?  As in one from a very, very long time ago?  Where people waltzed instead of "socially danced," as they're calling "grinding" now?  I'm pretty sure that it's been modified to be called "prom" for a reason.

Also, I thoroughly believe in the use of slang and various other terms.  Speech evolves.  I try to evolve with it.  :)  No use sounding like a fossil.  I'm not saying that we should all sound half mentally retarded, but some words and phrases just need to be accepted.

I'm not trying to be rude at all, I just really think that words have shifted for a reason.  But again, I'm no genius, so I don't know.  I could research it, but that's a bit too much effort.  I don't care that much.

ANYWAIZ.

That sucks so much butt, blue.  Let's eat someone for their villainy!  D<

YES. LETS.

*omnomnom*

Also, b/c I was curious about the whole thing, I caved and went to dictionary.com

Anywho, for those of you who are truly curious.... Prom was derived from Promenade, but Prom that was way back in 1890-95, so... yea. Promenade, in modern language, is generally used for a different thingie, or at least one not so specific as prom. It has... like... 9 different possible definitions, none of which are specifically the dance usually thrown at a HS or JH or college at the end of the school year. Mind you, one of the definitions is a formal dance. ;)

lol, my old math teacher was all with keeping things pronounced the way that they were supposed to be and keeping the right definition on things and some words were more or less banned.

LIKE FUNNER. lol, he was, like, in a WAR against the word 'funner' b/c it wasn't in a dictionary. And he had this GINORMOUS dictionary in his classroom and would occasionally put up words of the day like rubricate.

He was awesome.

Lmao!

My English teacher was the same.  She refused to hear words that the students were saying, even when they weren't improperly used.  I told her that we can't all sound like Shakespeare.

...Well, we can't.

She didn't like that answer, but she always did like me, so she didn't get all angry with me either.  Maybe it was because that even though I sounded like every other "cool" kid (because I was totally cool and "in" with the crowd like that [lulz]), I knew how to write properly.  Cooould beeeee.

But that was high school.  I know it was OMIGOSH so long ago for me (like last year long!) but yanno.

OH.  My English teacher in 10th grade was THE WORST about that stuff.  She made us write out "do not" and "cannot," etc., etc.  I understood why we should get in the habit of doing that, but talk about OLD SCHOOL.  XD
