There was a commotion in the lobby as soon as the two entered. Kenny did not want to go inside the room, however "harmless" it might be. It wasn't that he was afraid but rather he just... he simply didn't want to. Just because. And that was a good enough reason for him to resist his current vampire mistress. He yanked back on the tight grasp on his arm and pulled himself away. The woman growled in annoyance and pounced on him quickly, grabbing his hand once more before he could escape. He probably needed a leash to keep him where she wanted, and she had already tried that before but he just wouldn't shut. up. if he was tied. It was one of the biggest reasons why she was planning on selling him. She wanted her precious cash back before her pretty-but-annoying pet escaped... with her money. The dealer she had first bought him from had offered Kenny at such a temptingly low price that she couldn't resist. But back then, she hadn't known that he would be this hard to control. She had assumed he was already trained and would be perfectly calm and nice for her... And it was only to her surprise what a handful Kenny turned out to be instead. The female vampire herself was young, and recently turned, - perhaps half a century or so - and being somewhat unexperienced, she did not want the hassle of training unbroken pets.

Kenny had to be dragged back in. The boy spoke up in defiance, "I don't fuckin' want to stay in there!" He had a bad mouth as well, and she was reminded of that nearly every day. The last thing she needed was to be humiliated in public like this by her own slave. When the vampire hissed in annoyance and backhanded him, he yelped in pain and recoiled meekly. She rolled her eyes and put a hand to her head as if to attempt to block out the headache. Kenny was sweet, sometimes, when he was feeling particularly happy. But there were so many other times when he was such an irritating brat. At first, his mistress had trouble deciding on whether to sell him or not, brooding for weeks about the idea. Then when she caught him trying to run off with a few of her valuable jewelry for what seemed to be about the fifth time, she made her choice. And to think she should've gotten used to him after keeping him for two long years. She had had enough of him and she was not going to lose a part of her wealth to this boy.

Delia Westing

Midnight was certainly not the land of milk and honey, as Delia had figured out upon her arrival there only months prior. It was reminiscent of the Resident Evil mansion sometimes, in her mind - her vision would drop to black and white, deserted and hollow, and then back again, and there would be pets walking around, slaves running errands - the usual hustle and flow. And Delia would be confused, but she would not speak, for fear of Raphael or Narkisa finding out her thoughts.

She walked slowly, head held high as Raphael had taught her, though it hurt to move at all. Bullet wounds didn't heal as fast as she'd liked, even as a bloodbond. Raphael had slowed them to make her suffer, and there was nothing she could do about that. She was fine, but still sore, and she still had bandages wrapped around her underneath her long-sleeved black chenille sweater. They bothered her - she wanted to gnaw at them, but she'd been forbidden from her animal form for a few days because of her... incidents.

She rounded the corner in time to see a vampire and a pet scuffling, and raised her brows, amused. There was a vampire here who was only possibly ten years changed that could manage a mortal better than that. She leaned against the wall and watched, a brow crooked over a hauntingly golden eye in amusement. Her head tilted to the left slightly, as it always did when she was watching something.

Cerberus

Cerberus, for the most part, did whatever the hell he wanted.  He was tame, not broken.  He was a bloodbond, not a pet.  Sure, Hades had pets sometimes, but Cerberus wasn't one of them.  That had been the deal from the start, and the vampire had kept his word.  That meant that Cerberus still had a fully functional personality left to him, albeit a really messed up one, and he knew what he liked.

Seeing this little human struggling and yelling was something he liked.

He grinned, approaching without even taking notice of Delia watching at first, to lean into the little human's face, ignoring any vamp stupid enough to let a human act this way.  He knew plenty of trainers that could beat this kid into submission, but this one hadn't.  Fine with him, maybe it would run.

"Gonna run, kid?  Come on, take off.  You know you want to," he whispered, urging him on despite the female vampire's glare.  "Please.  I haven't chewed a kid's legs off for running away in so long.  I promise I'll give you a head start."

Kenny stopped fighting his mistress to stare at the man approaching them. The vampire carefully eyed the shapeshifter with a disdainful look on her face and was rather pleased that the bloodbond's presence seemed to have subdued the boy temporarily. That was, until the same man started urging her pet to run away. She shot a warning glare at Cerberus but didn't say anything as her eyes switched back to watch her boy. Kenny retreated closer to his mistress for protection, already intimidated by the large figure of the man. However, his mouth had a different idea and trying to hid his obvious nervousness, he coolly replied. "Fuck off."

The woman knew she was being too lenient with him, and her peers had taunted her endlessly about it. She wanted to tell herself that she still had a humane heart in her even though her friends didn't exactly appreciate this "weakness" and she didn't want to punish Kenny for no reason. The way he acted so meekly sometimes, especially after some discipline, she didn't know if he had learned his lesson or not until his next foolish act. In a way, the vampire had to admit she liked his lively personality except unfortunately it was a bit too much sometimes. Noticing immediately how Kenny did not want to be near the threatening man at all, the vampire smirked in amusement. She was entertained by the thought of leaving Kenny alone with the male shapeshifter, thinking that she could make her pet appreciate her presence for once. Besides, whatever happened to Kenny was probably his fault anyways and most likely deserved it. Taking advantage of the shapeshifter's guarding presence which had frozen Kenny on the spot, she decided to talk with a friend who had waved her over. Needing all the respect and allies she could get, she thought it would be better to chat with the fellow vampire without Kenny at her side, so he would not embarass her any further. Perhaps if the other lady was interested, she might even get a good trade for Kenny. Slightly uplifted by the thought, she didn't leave without threatening him to remain where he was until she returned.

Kenny eyed her, tempted to defy his mistress once more, but didn't move when she walked away. She looked serious about it (not that she hadn't been serious before) and he wasn't that stupid to try a last-ditch escape in this place at this time, especially with an intimidating man in front of him, who had practically threatened to do something horrible to his legs if he tried to run. Although it didn't stop him from planning, he had a feeling that either one of them would catch him before he could even get a foot outside the door. Perhaps later, when he found a better opportunity. Waiting for a full minute before acting, he relaxed and looked around the room for a few minutes before finding an empty couch to his liking. His blue-green eyes shifting warily back to see where his mistress was, he slinked slowly over to the sofa to lie down.

Delia Westing

If it had been peace Kenny sought on the couch while his Mistress spoke, he would be wrong. Delia only left him there for a moment before breezing over, giving the couch a good, hard nudge with her foot. For a human, it might have only bumped it, but for Delia, a wolf in girl's clothing, it made a loud thumping sound as it jerked back into the wall.

"Whatcha doin'?" she asked casually, voice... hard to describe. It definitely wouldn't have been a tone that Cerberus had heard from her before - it was obvious that staying in the company of Narkisa was starting to warp her, not that it wouldn't have, eventually. Delia was very different without Narkisa and Raphael around, actually. She was more bold, more rude. She was only just enough to slip under the radar of the other Midnight vampires so they wouldn't run to tell her Master, but she certainly would push around the human slaves as much as she pleased.

Raphael encouraged her not to be weak to anyone but him, and she did just that. Golden eyes surveyed the human boy laid out before her, and she languidly reached up and flicked some of her long, red hair away. It had been characteristic of her line, but Delia barely even remembered them. She just knew the colour was beautiful, unique, and special - or so Raphael told her.

Cerberus

Fuck off?

Fuck off?!

Cerberus actually let the kid go, not about to mutilate him in front of his mistress, but he gave the boy a look that clearly suggested pain.  How dare a little string bean with a big mouth talk to him like that?  This was going to be trouble, and not for Delia OR Cerberus.

He watched for a moment as Delia walked over and kicked the couch.  Okay, 'nudged', but it looked enough like a kick the way the furniture shot back, and he smirked.  Double team.  Even if she'd been all screwed up by Raphael, this would still be fun.

He shifted right there in the lobby, not caring in the least what anyone (Kenny) thought of it, and shot towards the boy and HIS couch.  No, it hadn't been his couch before, but now it was.  Why?  Because he decided he wanted it.  When a doberman his size decides that it wants a couch, you deal, which was exactly what was going to have to happen.  He leapt right past Delia to land on the cushion, and Kenny's legs, also not caring if his body weight was uncomfortable.  He was solid, large, and growled at the boy to suggest that kicking him off would be a BAD idea.

Good doggie.

Kenny Rowena

Snuggling immediately into the furniture, the boy brought his legs up off the floor and stretched them comfortably out on top of the cushions. He placed his arms behind his head with a smug smile on his face and closed his eyes to take a quick luxury nap. It wasn't too long before his temporary bed was rudely disturbed by another and his eyes immediately fluttered open in response. Not wanting to fall off, Kenny's instinctively gripped the couch as it rebounded back to its original position. Once the furniture stopped moving, he relaxed his grip on the couch and glared around to see who had dared to disturb him. Expecting nothing at first, his azul eyes found instead, a very attractive girl carelessly observing him.

Preoccupied with Delia, he hadn't noticed the man change into a doberman. His eyes narrowed suspiciously as he stared back at her. Was she the one who'd moved the couch? Seeing her now, he actually wouldn't have minded if she did. He took an immediate liking to her pretty face. Kenny opened his mouth to speak, "I was-" He abruptly cut off his own sentence in a gasp when a large dog rashly pounced on his legs. The boy sat up on the couch and struggled to withdraw his legs from under the uncomfortable weight, fully intending to shove the bulky animal off until the canine growled in warning. Shooting an evil glare at the animal, Kenny finally yanked himself out from under the dog and scrambled to the other side of the couch. Still staring at the animal that had taken over his couch, he growled in return, "Go away. I was here first, you bastard bitch." He supposed the animal that had so curtly violated his personal space was one of those shapeshifters. Or he was going crazy and talking to a dog, hoping it would understand and comply.

Lothaire

Lothaire had just enjoyed a fine meal. Growing weary of Midnight's Blood donors, he had gone hunting in the city. He had stalked a beautiful young woman for several hours before finally feeding on her. He had made sure to feed slowly and inflict as much pain as he possibly could. Her agony and fear had been exquisite as he drained her. As he came into the lobby of Midnight however, his mood took a turn for the worst.

He watched as a human defied his master, several time, despite a swift back hand from the woman vampire. Lothaire's face twisted down into a frown at the sight of the filthy human flopping on the furniture. He was slightly amused at the Wolf kicking the couch, but it was Hades' bodyguard that really stole the show. Though he was to far away to hear the initial insult, for some reason this foolish mortal now had a massive Doberman laying on his legs. Now that was amusing, Lothaire had spent enough time around Hades and his furry bodyguard to know that you do NOT piss the shifter off. And this boy had done just that.

As he crossed the lobby, he heard the moron human call Cerberus a "bastard bitch". Now , Cerberus was a big dog and could easily fend for himself, but Lothaire was not going to stand for this pathetic human disrespecting his betters. True Cerberus wasn't a vampire...but he was a blood bond. Lothaire smiled as he patted Cerberus on the head, the big dog looking like he was going to kill the little human. "Good Boy" he said.

He reached down and grabbed the boy by his throat, lifting him from the couch and quickly slapping him a couple times. This one was going to learn his place, and learn to respect his betters.

"You need to learn your place, and learn to watch that mouth of yours. Not all vampires here are as weak as your master. And the vampires aren't the only ones you have to worry about either. Now, Cerberus my friend, you feel like having a bit of fun with this one?"

He held the human by the throat and was dipping him up and down in front of the big Doberman, who was  snarling and snapping. The waves of terror coming off the boy were most delicious...ahhh yes, what a fine desert...

Cerberus

February 21, 2008, 02:23:33 AM #8 Last Edit: February 21, 2008, 02:25:11 AM by Cerberus
This kid HAD to be some sort of an idiot.  Didn't humans come with survival instincts?  First, Kenny was trying to flirt with Delia, who wasn't exactly doing anything to seem less than hostile, and then he had the nerve to wriggle away from Cerberus.  He topped ALL of it with what he had to say, though.

Bastard bitch?

BITCH?!

Yeah, this kid had to be retarded or something.  Calling Cerberus a bitch, regardless of the meaning intended, was just stupid.  I'll show you who's the bitch here, you pansy-assed little girl!  If that thought wasn't conveyed in the positively furious snarl and bark he offered up, then Kenny was stupider than he looked.  Cerberus was going to eat his fucking FACE.

Or maybe he'd just help Lothaire fuck the kid up.  That could be just as fun, really, and it'd still result in him hearing the boy squeal for help like a little girl.  It'd be even BETTER if the kid yelled to Delia for help, since she'd be just as likely to join in.  Oh, he so hoped so.  In fact, he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that she looked like the good guy in the situation, just so that she'd have the pleasure of hearing the idiot beg for her help.

Thus, the snapping began.

He hopped off the couch, snapping enthusiastically at the kid's ankles, though he didn't grab all that hard at first.  Just enough to startle, and make his intentions clear.  Besides, he liked holding back a little, since tearing the boy's leg off would be satisfying, but it'd cut everything way short.  No sense in killing the fun, or the kid, too quickly.  He was getting impatient enough that the next time Lothaire dipped Kenny's struggling (I'd assume) form towards him again, he didn't just graze skin and grab pants.  He bit down on muscle.

Mmm, even if the fabric didn't taste good, and he didn't tear the muscle completely off, it was gooood.  He made sure he bit through the fabric enough to draw some blood, but he was still holding back a little.  Maybe the kid would squirm even more and make it better.  Just like the yellow Nerf footballs, he loved it when the target was thrashing around.  This was alive, so it was even better.

Sound the Cerberus is Peeved alarm and out pops Hades.  Always.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, guys."  Because Hades didn't enter rooms like a normal human, or vampire, or anything; Hades was above that.  He just appeared.  "Let's not be too hasty here.  Cerberus, back off, let the little brat say his piece.  I'm sure he has a perfectly reasonable explanation for his stupidity.  Don't you, kid?"  Well, Hades did enter rooms like normal people, he just liked to think that he was so amazingly agile that no one heard him.  If they did, they never corrected him.  It was better that way.

His dark eyes studied the teenager in Lothaire's grasp as he waited a reasonable response.  He certainly hoped that this boy had a reason for his attitude.  No sane individual would ever speak to anyone who clearly held more power than them in such a manner.  That was utter madness and was simply unheard of!  Unless, of course, said individual had a death wish.  There was always the potential for that, certainly.

"Either way kid, I'd definitely suggest a dictionary."  He lowered his voice to a stage whisper as he said, "A bitch is a female dog, just f-y-i."  It did not even seem to occur to him that the kid could be in pain from the way he was being handled.  Not that he cared.  He honestly didn't.

Cerberus

Awww, Hades wasn't being at all fun.  This was going to have to be remedied, though Cerberus froze in what he was doing.  The fact that he stopped worrying at the boy's leg and just HELD it wasn't really great for Kenny, but at least he'd done that much.  Actually 'backing off' was going to require assuaging his temper a little more, first.

He called me a bitch!  And told me to fuck off!  I'm gonna rip his leg off!  Stupidity doesn't see reason, it just sees its own self-importance, and he thinks he's hot shit!  Wait until he's missing a leg and nazi-boy buys him just for a piece of meat to practice on!

Yeah, he was pissed.  Fortunately, only Hades and Lothaire (if the guy was paying attention to Cerberus' surface thoughts) would hear it.  Fortunately for Kenny, anyway.  The kid HAD to have a death wish.

Lothaire

Lothaire was in fact paying attention to Cerberus' thoughts. Cerberus wasn't his bloodbond, so he wasn't really worried by the dog's actions. He watched the dogs teeth sink in nicely, and just stay. Seeing that, he began to jiggle the boy ever so slightly so that the teeth moved a bit in his flesh. He was also increasing the pressure around boys throat, watching his skin change colors as he slowly cut off the air flow and blood circulation. He could do some astounding things bare handed by simply manipulating little things. Hades hadn't told him to knock it off, though Lothaire respected him enough that he probably would. Now to see if this lesson was making any progress.

"You silly little fool, are you learning anything yet? I could easily just squeeze the life out of you right here and now. In fact, I may offer that weakling master of yours a sum of money for you....I would enjoy teaching you to mind your manners."

If he bought the boy, it would be to have a new whipping toy. He enjoyed having a live body around to practice his whip work on. But if he ended up buying the boy, he knew he would tire of him quickly, though he could always just feed him to Cerberus...

Delia Westing

Delia took a large step back, making room for Hades. She smiled at him - a sort of twisted, 'nobody's home' smile. She looked back as Lothaire and Cerberus had there fun, at least, until Hades broke it up only enough to do more damage. She doubted the boy had a reasonable explanation for any of this. She opened her mouth to speak, when a hand caught her shoulder.

"Master," she said, startled. Raphael didn't clench down so much as he did firmly hold, and brought himself to her side, watching this display before him with... mild disgust.

"Lothaire, why don't you buy him? He can't be worth more than a few hundred. Look at him," he said, gesturing. He raised his chin a little towards the female vampire who'd dragged him in, and almost considered scaring the Hell out of her, but reconsidered at the last possible second. Radiating fear with a temperamental Cerberus and a twitchy Delia might not always be the best course of action in a crowded room - especially not when it was the front entrance of Midnight.

"If he buys him, can I play with him?" Delia asked, batting her large golden eyes at Raphael. Wheras most people would take what Delia said to the gutter, Raphael knew better - and so did anyone else who'd gotten word of what she'd done. Delia had killed the avian Alistair. She'd literally ripped him apart. She was a good little puppy, yes she was.

Lothaire

Quite a crowd had assembled in the lobby. With Hades and Raphael both there, it was almost too easy to inflict more pain on the boy. Lothaire scoffed at the notion he would actually buy this pathetic creature. He was wholly worthless in the state he was in now, and would take considerable training to be acceptable. He brought the boys face closer to his, still ever so slightly squeezing his throat. He stared the boy in the eyes, and despite the obvious pain both his grip and Cerberus's teeth should be inflicting, he thought perhaps there was still a glimmer of defiance in the boys eye. Well that just wouldn't do now would it? He gave the boy a good shake, knowing the teeth embedded in his leg had to be grinding deeper.

"I have become quite tired of you already. Perhaps you should answer Hades, I believe he asked you a question boy. And you better show him the proper respect, or I shall have no qualms about dropping you into Cerberus's eager mouth....Bitch."

This should be good, because no matter what the boy said, he was going to Cerberus. Lothaire was bored by this point, and tired of holding him up. As soon as he spoke....he was going down to reap what he had sown.

Kenny Rowena

When Cerberus started snarling and barking at him, Kenny immediately regretted insulting the dog as soon as it was out of his mouth. Oh.. fuck. He thought, backing fearfully into the corner of the couch a little more. The doberman looked seriously pissed and from then on, he knew it had to be a shifter. He assumed a real dog wouldn't have cared what he said.

Then a strange vampire walked up to where they were and Kenny took his attention briefly away from the deadly canine to glance at the man. Before he could react properly, Kenny felt a hand wrapped around his neck and was lifted up from the couch. His own hands moved to his throat to try and pry himself out of the grip. He yelped when the man slapped him but didn't stop struggling in the uncomfortable position.

His mind raced along with his heart. A string of endless, fearful curses went through his head, knowing he was in trouble again, but was never spoken. Kenny assumed the man was probably the dog's owner, probably offended by his words as well as his dog. He managed to choke out, "I'm... sorry!" but it was barely above a whisper as he struggled to breathe. They probably didn't hear him over Cerberus's barking.

He had just made up his mind to shut his mouth up for a while, not wanting to give anyone any reason to hurt him, when the angry canine bit down hard on his leg. He yelled at the initial pain and let out a couple curses in addition, unable to stop himself. Then, Kenny quickly bit down on his lip to silence himself, thinking his mistress might come back at the sound and knew that if she saw him like this, she wasn't going to be too happy with him. Where was she anyways? He hoped she would come to "save" him from this man and the dog, but it probably didn't matter. He was in trouble either way.

It didn't help that the vampire was shaking him up and down, making the dog's teeth all the more painful to him. Kenny definitely regretted his actions now and he only thought how he could get out of the mess he was in. Another man appeared and started talking to them, aiming his last words at Kenny. The boy couldn't really do anything but continue staring helplessly at the vampire holding him up. "Ye-" The grip around his neck tightened and he choked instead. His leg hurt like hell but he forced himself to stop moving as much. Unable to say much, Kenny was stuck hopelessly in a dilemma that was getting worse by the minute. How could he tell them that he whole-heartedly agreed with them that he had made a mistake and he wasn't planning to do it again any time soon? The boy didn't like what the vampire was threatening to do and tried to move his head in an apologetic nod. He didn't like getting hurt.

When Lothaire shook him again to speak, he attempted to comply once more. Out of breath, he spoke quickly as he could, "Sorry! I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I promise. Please..." Kenny resorted to the submissive manner that usually got him out of trouble, or at least lightened his punishment somewhat if he couldn't avoid it altogether. He usually knew when he was pushing people over their limits and always tried to stop just before he got himself into deep trouble he didn't want. Unfortunately this time, he had failed to realize it before it was too late and understood that he had gone too far.

His mistress had been busy talking to her friend and when she looked over to check up on Kenny, she was shocked to find another vampire holding her pet up by the throat. She had her worries that he might do something stupid - it was almost inevitable - but she hadn't expected it to be this quick. The woman watched for a minute wondering if she should let the man correct Kenny for whatever he had done wrong. As long as the other vampire didn't kill the boy or leave a mark that would lower his price in any way. Since she didn't have a solid deal just yet, she didn't want her property to be getting damaged badly. The initial tag was already low enough and she didn't want to have to go any lower. Anxious now, she stood up and walked towards her boy when the crowd suddenly started growing. Kenny must've gone and done something incredibly foolish. Already surrounded by four people and a dog, he was attracting way too much attention now for her comfort. She didn't want to show the rest of the world that he was her pet, but she had to get him back before he did anything worse. The woman clenched her teeth, angry at Kenny and at the same time, bracing herself for the humiliation of reclaiming him. They would surely mock her now. She murmured to no one in particular. "What has he done now?" Quietly pushing the crowd aside, she began respectfully apologizing to the other vampires for the actions of her pet and whatever he had done to offend them. The woman stared at Lothaire, who was still holding on to her property. "If you please, unless you plan to buy him, I would rather have him returned to me now."
