Aaron (TO ALL): I got to see some gay bartender let a girl with daddy issues whip Taro in the balls with his own belt. Totally worth it.

It's that time again.  Activity Sweep, list updates, all that fun stuff.  Here's a recap on how it works:

  • All members without an in character post since June 1, 2008 have been labeled "Inactive'.  Exceptions to this rule extend ONLY to those who were courteous enough to put up a post in the absence thread before I went and cleaned things up.

  • Characters without an in character post since May 1, 2008 have been labeled 'Inactive'.  Exceptions to this rule extend ONLY to those who are active, contributing members of this site.  That means actively posting in character and keeping the site going with other characters.  I'm not going to penalize active players where their less active characters are concerned.

  • All profiles that haven't been updated, meaning that the profile fields are still empty from the board switch all that time ago, have been labeled 'Inactive'.

  • Everyone with existing characters, please also remember to keep your Player and Character Info updated, such as if you make a new character.  It makes it easy for all of us to keep up with, and I updated some of them myself.  I don't plan to do it ALL the time, so try to keep up with it. :)

  • All Inactive characters have been removed from the Face Claim list.  The list is simply getting too long for us to save faces for those who aren't actively contributing.  Other players may want to make active characters with those faces.  Please note that any changes (switching faces, etc.) can be posted in the thread, and one of the staff will take care of it.

  • Lists are updated.  If there are any names on any lists that I missed, feel free to PM me with the information, and I will edit immediately.

  • Email address changes on newer accounts are still to be posted in the appropriate thread, and Dreen will get to them whenever I give her a prod and tell her to get her ass on it.  Anyone who made a new character and had to use a false email address to register should post in the Email Changes thread, where our Tech Admin will be more than willing to fix that little problem for you.

As for those players and characters placed in Inactive, I promise that it's an easy fix.  All you need to do is contact me to have your character returned to their original group, though I'll admit there's a catch to it all.  If you don't contact me a second time with a link to an active thread, you're going right back where you started and losing your PB again.  Really, people, it is NOT that hard to stay active here.  There's usually someone online at any point in the day, give or take a few hours, and it's not like thread requests get turned down.  If you don't know what to do, look through some of the member lists and see if something catches your eye, then PM the person (best done on their contact account, for some of us) or IM them.  Most of us, if not all, will be on that pretty fast.

Throwing a reminder out there, we still have a chat for Night's Omen!  This should help us in plotting and just generally getting to know all of our fellow players better.  Both new and existing players can join the chat at any time to ask questions or get involved.  The chat can be found here: Night's Omen Chat.

As always, anyone desiring access to the Broomcloset forums just needs to PM me.  They ARE still there, so if you had posts there, they didn't vanish, but the forums aren't visible unless you've been placed in a specific group to be granted access.  As long as you can convince me that you're 18 or older (I'm sure we really don't have those sorts of problems here, but just in case...), then you're good to go, and you only need to ask. :)

Finally, and I know this is what everyone's always interested in seeing in these posts, here's our 'Want/Do Not Want' list.

Types of characters we want:
  • Single Earth members (can't have enough peaceful peeps)

  • Humans (ALWAYS!)

  • Vampires (Younger vampires only. Not all vampires are insanely old, and young vamps can be really fun.  This means 200 or younger, unless I give express permission.  No, that doesn't mean ask.)

  • Non-Hawk Avian shifters (Crows and Sparrows, baby!  They're getting so little love!)

  • Non-Cobra/White viper Serpiente shifters (Rat snakes, boas and pythons are cool, too!)

  • Pakana!  (Come on, hyenas are cool, and these ones are all touchy feely and cuddly.)

  • Police?  If you want one, go for Ramsa.

Types of characters we don't want:
  • Falcon shapeshifters

  • Golden Hawk shapeshifters

  • Feline shapeshifters

  • Crossbreed shapeshifters

  • Triste Witches

  • NYPD.  They're looking pretty full, and Ramsa is kind of fail in that department.

  • Made-up shifter breeds -- without admin approval for why they exist. If it's not on the shapeshifter list in the information forum, then it requires admin approval.

  • Onyx trainees (There ARE other Guilds, you know.)

  • Old vamps (Anything older than 200 is going to require talking me into it, and it had better be effing awesome.  I mean it.)

  • Anything canon from another fandom

  • Anything that doesn't make SENSE.  This is a modern dark fantasy realm, people.  There are no fifteen year olds that can fight vampires, orphans are auto-fail, and superly-asian characters (even non-Asians who are super into the Asian thing are going to fall into this category.  There ARE other cultures and it is NOT reasonable to walk around in a kimono with a katana for your weapon.) will be refused.  This is NOT an anime story, and so anime characters will not be accepted.

  • Drama Llamas.  Seriously, guys, your character does NOT have to have a super depressing, tragic mary sue past to be interesting.  If you make a character like this, chances are pretty good that I'm going to tell you to tone down the drama and make a less cliched character.  Same with characters purely for smutty situations and ship characters.  Don't do it.  Just, don't.

  • This shouldn't be something I have to list here, but just to be safe...We follow the canon, while not actually touching the canon characters usually.  That means that none of the canons have any mysteriously lost children or other fandom-type stuff.  No, you can't be Jeshickah's daughter from before when she was human, made into a vamp and even crazier than mommy.  No.  Unless you mention it to me and I don't start twitching and snap into an alternate consciousness that allows my body to go on a mass-killing spree, don't do it.  And if you don't KNOW that I won't do that and catch you in the crossfire, don't ask.

  • I've mentioned the 'Don't ask' policy a few times, but here it is in detail.  Don't ask.

  • If you don't follow this policy and you DO ask, I will give you an answer, and then an even more important policy comes into play.  Don't ask AGAIN.  While you may survive asking the first time, repeatedly hounding myself or one of my mods for something is the most surefire way to never get it.  Ever.  Everrrrrrr.
