So dudes, yesterday my dad got pulled over.  It was funny because he wasn't buckled up (I wasn't either, but I'm sneaky), AND his registration is expired.  Now, don't think poorly of him, he's actually been trying to renew his registration for a month or so now, but he wants a disabled vet. license plate and the place had all kinds of issues sending that out to him.  Turns out there was more paper work than they gave him.  But anyway, my dad was doing 45 in a 25 zone, and even with the other two factors in, the cop let us go with nothing.  I was like, "What a nice man."  <3  He said, "Buckle up, sir, and drive safely.  You have kids in the car."

I was just thrilled that he didn't see me buckle myself in.  The key is to move veeery slowly.  XD

For anyone interested, Darren and I have been having significant internet trouble.  Like, it'll be here, then it won't, then it will, etc., etc.  The internet's being incredibly slow on top of it, meaning that most pictures and such won't load.  So, basically, if this even manages to go through, don't be surprised if we (mostly Darren) disappear occassionally until this is fixed.

On a side note: we've also been busy.  (Again, this mostly pertains to Darren since he's the admin.)

Damn, Darren, do I know that feeling. Right now a customer of ours anted up his show car for me to drive until my trans situation is fixed. It's an intermittent problem, which means it could literally DROP out of the fucking car at any time. I'm selling my Pullip dolls to make up the difference for the $ to get it fixed.. I can say this, when that bitch gets fixed, it's going to be rebuilt bulletproof. The parts/labor is 1045, but that's all super upgraded billet shift forks and carbon fiber synchros. The trans will be able to handle up to 700WHP. :D

And yeah, any weekday between 11-7 Central time I'll pretty much be at work.

If you're ever actually ONLINE for awhile when I am, my comp is usually pretty quick, and they seemed to have fixed my net issues. *crosses fingers*  I could always input numbers for you, if you'll split winnings. :)

Connor's profile is being updated.  He has a super nasty, short history sitting there, but it's in the process of being edited.  The REST has BEEN updated, and is much better, if I do say so myself.  Hell, the Physical description is longer than the whole profile used to be, and his personality is LONG now.  If it stresses how much was expanded upon to mention it, the file with his profile on my comp went from 4KB to 17KB.  That's given him the longest profile in my folder.

And I haven't done his history yet. :)

I said I'd go to bed and I LIED. I promised myself I'd email these people about this thing, and it took forever longer than I planned because I'm anal-retentive and had to organize a lot of things before sending out the one mass email.

So right now my car is on the lift getting the transmission yanked. It turned out that I think it's my hydraulic system and pressure plate. I just picked up a Z06 clutch/pressue plate/flywheel and a slave cylinder with the TOB for a DAMN good price thanks to knowing the right people and having them take pity on me for not beating the piss out of my car, lol.

It'll be on the road tonight. :) AND, I'M MOVING!!!!! I'll be closer to home with a bunch of other computer geeks whom I might even con into signing up here. :D

As I told Darren before, Ambien forces your brain to release saratonin, I believe, which pushes you into the dreaming state.. regardless of whether or not you've gone to bed.

I prefer doxylamine succinate (unisom, walsom [tabs, not gels]) for sleep aids, but percocets also work nicely.

Generally I just drink myself into a stupor and pass out. :)

I went in and fixed all of the codes, well, as many as I cared to.  I completely agree with you.  I go out of my way to make sure our advertisement looks good, but it feels like no one does the same.  Some of them I understand, though.  While I was going through the codes, I caught a lot of people who fixed the centering issue, but couldn't figure out how to make the sizing work.  We go by the point system and sometimes I forget myself, so that's okay.  It's the people who don't fix anything that drives me nuts.

It's like, "Come on people!  Hit 'preview'!"

So sad.  ;)

Edit:  And you wouldn't BELIEVE some of the spelling errors people did!  It's an advertisement.  Don't you think typos and misspellings look bad?  Run it through spell check, dammit.  XD

Also, for various reasons, I've recently gone off on a kick for drawing Ancient Egyptian mythological thingies. Thus far I have this very pretty Ammut and I'm working on Anubis weighing some poor sucker's heart and having things not turn out so well for them. Ammut is also there and looking all happy about this. I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna put the sucker whose heart is being weighed or Thoth in the pic, but... who knows?

I kinda wonder what my IQ would be.  I mean, I'm no genius and I know it, but I'm not STUPID.  That article said that 100 is about average, so maybe I'd be cool enough to get a little above it.  That little girl was listed as being in Stephen Hawking's IQ bracket, comparative to her age, which is INSANE.  That was 152.

Estelore, if you scored that high on various IQ tests, good for you. We really don't care, though why are you even bringing it up? This is a rp board - we're not interesting in the latest scientific discovery, medical advances, intelligence scores, whatever. We're here to play with a makeup world. ;)

The fact of the matter is, however, that a score that high does make it sound like you're making stuff up. You don't want people questioning it then just don't mention it at all, ktnkx. Otherwise it makes you look like you're just lying to impress people and not lying very well, because it's not particularly believable, given how very few people score that high on IQ tests, except for the fake ones that you take on the internet or whatever.

With the prom thing I wasn't being condescending. I've just been asked so many times 'what is promenade?', because that is actually what we call it here. Most people call it prom, and I didn't want confusion.

As far as I know, which honestly isn't far because I'd never claim to be a genius (clearly, I'm not), a promenade isn't the same as The Prom.  Initially there was a correlation, but isn't a promenade a specific sort of dance?  As in one from a very, very long time ago?  Where people waltzed instead of "socially danced," as they're calling "grinding" now?  I'm pretty sure that it's been modified to be called "prom" for a reason.

Also, I thoroughly believe in the use of slang and various other terms.  Speech evolves.  I try to evolve with it.  :)  No use sounding like a fossil.  I'm not saying that we should all sound half mentally retarded, but some words and phrases just need to be accepted.

Anywho, for those of you who are truly curious.... Prom was derived from Promenade, but Prom that was way back in 1890-95, so... yea. Promenade, in modern language, is generally used for a different thingie, or at least one not so specific as prom. It has... like... 9 different possible definitions, none of which are specifically the dance usually thrown at a HS or JH or college at the end of the school year. Mind you, one of the definitions is a formal dance. ;)

I'm gonna start with the response at Cody, since that's the one that sticks out.  Estelore, you may claim that you have an IQ over 9,000 (and don't you DARE correct me and assume I'm not exaggerating), but not all of the members here have been writing for as long as some of us.  Don't fuck with Cody, and don't fuck with anyone for the way they write.  Cody has improved IMMENSELY from RPing here as a writer, well before you showed up, and I don't need to see you correct him like that.  YOU were being fucking rude when you treated him like that.  He wasn't taking a side against you, just telling you to post.  OBVIOUSLY, he was talking IC, because he was RESPONDING to an OOC post of yours.  Put your IQ to use, and don't make this mistake again.  There are some things I will tolerate, but I WILL NOT have you putting down members of my site who honestly try, and are improving.  None of us here have an IQ of 190, but we are doing a hell of a lot more with our IQ than you seem to think, and I absolutely refuse to watch someone that I have PERSONALLY been assisting in his RPing get bitched at for his punctuation.

I'm not offended, this isn't the Debacle forum over at AR (which is a lovely place huh Venom?) so I'm not gonna get bent out of shape over some one criticizing my writing. I know my writing gets kinda sketchy IC, but this is my first RP and I get too caught up in trying to play my characters and advance the plot lines than trying to make sure I turn in an A+ example of prose. But anyway, I'm not offended, you would know if I was offended because I increase my power level to OVER 9000, and attain my final form of Meatywand, at which point you would probably end up flamed off the face of the intrawebs. But anyway...no not offended at all, lets all just play..as Darren said, we have a big plot brewing that anyone will be able to jump in on in any capacity and have a good time, and thats what this is about so lets all work toward that.

Ok so once upon a time my little brother was a member of KP, I think he was 15. One day this dude posted a picture of his girlfriend asking if she was attractive, and asking for honest opinions.  Well he responded and was perhaps more honest than he should have been. That sparked a shit fit which Phu's girlfriend Kat joined. Colton (my brother) called her an ugly bitch too. Phu then banted him. Well a couple weeks later he and a friend trolled the SHIT out of AR and covered the first page of a couple boards with nonsense. Since I was in danger of being banned from AR for it, I posted his phone number in retaliation. He got like 95 calls and overloaded his text box in a like 2 hours. Dakota was one of the people who neglected to block their caller ID, and so he saved all the numbers that weren't blocked. So now everytime he gets drunk he will will call Dakota and threaten anal rape or something just as pleasant.....its teh lulz because almost everytime Dakota posts a thread bitching about it on AR and even threatened legal action SOI SOI SOI SOI

Kidding me? Dakota should have known better, LOL. I still get drunk calls from Ham, but not as much, hahahaha.

Hm, sounds like your natural colour is about mine, Estelore. I'm half Sicillian and half 'Black Irish', so I've got a pale complexion that carries an awesome tan. I DID burn when I was younger though, but I just don't look as good with the Dita Von Teese cream coloured look as good as other women can pull it off, so I stay away from it.

Work is 50/50 with the colours, too. I'm thinking about asking my stylist to throw in a temporary dark shade that I can panic strip if I need to, LOL.

What I do is this - I've got a bio template saved in notepad, and I just jot stuff down until I get everything in order. Once it's all done, I hunt down avatars and photos, and then when I have about 600 of them, lol, I get all my stuff ready. After that, you just log out, go to 'register' and fill out all the info. Just a head's up, you canNOT use the same e-mail. We usually just drop in a fake one, and then dip over to the 'email update' thread and link the new profile in.

That's basically it. I'm the only mod on, if you're thinking of cracking one out tonight, so I can't physically approve it until Darren gets on, but I can do all the other stuff until then.

Oh yeah, and if you have problems finding avatars, I'm the resident hunter for them. Just give me who you want to use as a PB and I can find 'em... just make sure to check the Face Claim thread first to clear it.

This usually happens when the character tells me what they look like before I have even a vague idea for a person in mind. Which does happen sometimes, or I find ONE picture that's perfect and can't find the same person again.

Both of these are, needless to say, HIGHLY ANNOYING.

I honestly DON'T see a Vida/Smoke working. If you take a look at Riese Smoke's profile, you'll see how bad it can get just for one to be brought up in the wrong environment. I believe we discussed it before, in an AU setting where Danielle and Riese actually were married. I think we determined that their magic would either go one way, or the other, but not both. I actually think AHAR addressed it at one point, but blue would know more than I would in that area.

If you want to do a sibset, that would be fun; we could use more Smoke Witches. I wouldn't even mind having TWO Smoke Witches, honestly, because SENY does need more of them. It would give Matthew and Sarah someone to talk to, lol.

And I love the names, wouldn't dream of stealing them. :)

Um, Vida/Smoke seems a bit unlikely to me, though as I have two Vida/Aruns....

Smoke is just the peaceful line, and Vida... uh... isn't. REALLY isn't. The end result, however, would probably mean that you'd get a couple witches whose healing skills weren't as developed as a full blood smoke and hurting skills weren't as developed as a full Vida, given that witch powers and how they're developed are passed down through blood. Vidas have been honing their skills for a long time to hurt, Smokes have been doing it to heal. You'd lose the edge off both of those by mixing - sort of like if you mix black and white paint, you'd get gray; neither as dark as black nor as light as white, just something in between that wouldn't be as useful for establishing your lights or your darks. Some of that could be changed a bit in training, sure, but even if you added some more black/white to the gray... it would still be gray. Lighter or darker, but still gray.

I'm really not sure if having one raised Vida, one raised Smoke would work - it would partially depend on their histories. Keep in mind, however, that Vidas and Smokes don't tend to like each other all that much. They tolerate each other, sure, but Smokes are all about 'HEAL IT, SAVE IT, EVERYTHING HAS GOOD IN IT' where Vidas are, as they have been for literally thousands of years, a clan of witches whose entire attitude is 'KILL THE VAMPIRES NOW.' I don't think that EITHER clan would like the other having the baby witches, though the Vidas would probably get them in the end - Dominique is a Vida and is the head of the witches; partial Vida babies would probably be Vida trained under her orders, and maybe also taught a bit of healing for their fellow witches.

Once again, however, it kind of depends on how creative you get with their histories. It could get squidgy with that cross tho, especially if you wanted one of them (or both of them) raised Smoke....

So.  Computer = Fail.

So, for anyone who doesn't yet know, my computer decided to have a shitfit at about midnight last night.  I thought, for awhile, that it might be malware, so not only did I run MY virus scan, but I downloaded a different kind to double-check it.  Turns out, MY virus scan didn't find shit, but the one Angie suggested found 6 Trojans.  I removed them.

It didn't do a damn thing.

Called Best Buy today for info, and I was told that the only other thing that would do it would be the inverter board.  Called the manufacturer, and they gave me a number to call to ask about the cost of the part.  Part costs $69, but the manufacturer is charging about $450 for the job.  Apparently, sending it in, fixing it and buying the part, and sending it back is worth a hell of a lot more than I thought.  Naturally, spending $450 on a computer I only spent about $800 on originally really didn't make sense, especially with how quickly technology changes and advances.  Everyone who knows anything about computers that I asked suggested buying a new one.

So I did. 

Funny thing is, I have to wait and see why the hell the internet won't connect, which is why I wasn't around tonight.  Hopefully, I'll have that taken care of in the morning, and everything'll be cool.  For now, Lock went to bed and I'm borrowing her PC. 

Even funnier?  I was about a MONTH outside of my manufacturer's warranty.  Ha.

Estelore, we've already given you our opinions on the likelihood of it. If you want to make them, that's your prerogative, but I can tell you that to Danielle, the idea of sharing a man with a Smoke is repulsing. The fact that Hailee and Alex even claim the Vida last name would drive her nuts, though it doesn't bother Angela as much as you'd think it would (read: she doesn't give a shit).

The two lines have very different upbringings. If you need to, go flip back through Shattered Mirror for an idea of what growing up Vida is like.

Personally, that's too much soap-opera drama llama stuff for a new character's history.  If you come up with stuff like that IC after a character is made, that's one thing, but we try to avoid having characters running around with a soap opera history.

Um... somehow I can't see that working so easily either, given that Vidas and Smokes are so incompatible. The most (VERYMOSTATALL) that I could see even possibly happening would be maybe (MAYBE) two half witches, and even that would still be kind of unlikely.

Vidas, at least, are not exactly known for sleeping around all that much, haha.

Estelore, maybe you could do Smoke sisters, one of which was turned into a vampire? I wouldn't mind giving Riese and Matthew a sister if you wanted to take that approach, just know that Riese is not going to be someone she'd have much of a relationship with. Matthew though, would definitely have a reason to go Greenwich if he had a sister, vampire or NOT, there.

Estelore, I wouldn't mind giving Matthew a reason to have someone besides his bastard brother to talk to. If you read both of their profiles, and possibly Danielle's as well, you kind of see I've already got some light side/dark side stuff going on between the two siblings. Having a sister wouldn't really make the situation any worse for Matthew, his mother or his father - it's Riese's reaction that is all explosive. Given, however, the fact that he refuses to talk to any of his family save maybe his father, I don't see his attitude changing much.

For reference, Riese and his father took all the dark features, while Matthew and his mother are the blonde/blue-eyed of the bunch. Sort of funny that Matty looks more like a Vida when Riese acts more like one. I'm positive that there'd have been no way to swing Riese's history without the backstory from Danielle's, which is the ONLY reason I even made him a PC. Riese is a twisted sonofabitch, for lack of a better way of describing him.

With the sister, her looks could go either way. If she was a normal Smoke, Riese would still have contact. If she supported SE, or was a vampire, he would have cut her off entirely, just like he basically did with Matthew. Matty will talk to anyone, and he loves his family, even if he doesn't quite agree with them. He understands why Riese is the way he is, but he was still pretty young when a lot of the stuff with Marcus went down, so it's hard for him to really comprehend it.

I would honestly not prefer it to be twins rather than a single sister, only because this particular family wasn't meant to be huge. She could probably be closer to Matthew's age than Riese's, as he is the oldest and I want to keep it that way. For her features, it could go either way, so I leave that open.

The stuff with JayZ was regurgitated garbage. Reanimation was good stuff, especially since I'm a sucker for b-sides, remixes, all that kind of thing. I've got tons of tracks remixed by other people that actually CHANGE  the song.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.  Apparently, I was either sleepwalking through some Indiana Jones style stunts, or I got bit by a spider last night.  Took an antihistamine in case it's the latter, since the pain and swelling have only gotten worse throughout the course of the day.

Just for the record, stairs really, really suck when walking hurts.

No, seriously.  I have bad feet, and I ran for about 8 weeks on them, miles at a time, in BMT.  This hurts worse.  Every.  Time.  I.  Move.  Lock's dad thinks it's a spider bite, and that the swelling on the outside is only part of it, so there's swelling on the inside, which is causing joint pain (because you don't want swelling between joints).  So, basically, it hurts.  A lot.  If the damn anti-histamines don't do something by the time I wake up tomorrow, I'm going to the damn hospital.  Not playing this game for long, since just getting upstairs to the damn kitchen and even further upstairs to the shower is an ordeal. 

Fortunately for me (haha), our house is pretty much all stairs.  Three floors.

So, my ankle's doing better today.  It was very obviously a spider bite, since the antihistamines are helping, though it's about at the level it was at when I woke up yesterday (which worries me that it'll get worse throughout the day again).  Hopefully, the pills will keep that from happening, and it'll go away.  Bad thing about the pills is that they keep me awake, so I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night.  I'm tired NOW and I can't go back to sleep.

Ironically enough, I haven't been getting enough hours at work, and they called to offer me a nice, long shift that I can't take because I hardly slept and happen to be limping around.  Figures.

I love all you people...let me know via text how we're gonna handle the midnight assault

So, for anyone interested, we've decided that I have a sprain of some sort, probably due to attempts at being Indiana Jones in my sleep or something.  Because everyone sprains their ankle and has no idea how it happened.  Yep.  Right.

Anyway, it can't be a spider bite because there's no bite mark, and I was tested for blood clots (just in case).  Doctor figures it's a sprain.  It doesn't feel like the last sprain I had, especially with the way it HURTS TONIGHT, but oh well.  I also had crutches for that one, and didn't get any this time.

Fine with me.  I hate crutches.

So, photoshop (and illustrator and all the other thingies in my adobe suite) ARE NOT WORKING. I figured sure, it's a problem, I'll get this resolved. Finally got around to calling tech support yesterday and today, and after having spent about SIX. FREAKIN. HOURS. on the phone with these people, IT'S STILL NOT WORKING. SAME PROBLEM.

I'm not annoyed at THEM, they've done all they knew how to do and were nice and helpful, but GOSHDANGIT. I WANT MY PHOTOSHOP BACK. T_T

So anyway, the lady who I talked to most lately said that she was making some notes on my case file and forwarding it to the people who are REALLY specialized to see if they can figure out what's going on and then call me to try something else that they can do. So, has anyone seen 'The Happening' yet?  I saw half of it last night, but I'm not sure if the ending was any good.  Apparently, something big was up with the electricity, because the fire alarm went off in the theater, forcing an evacuation about halfway through the movie.  Half of the traffic and street lights on the way home were out, and our electricity at the house had so little moving through the lines that it might as well have been out.

Sooooo, missed out on net time with people, who seemed to have been around doing stuff last night, AND missed the rest of that movie.  *displeased*

It was a lame movie. Promise.
